The Club Umbrella is open to all Playing Members, including novice players once they have been “certified” by the Coaches that they are ready to play. It is a wonderful opportunity for club members of all abilities and ages to play together in a relaxed and friendly environment and make new friends while having fun playing this addictive game. Dress code is SMART CASUAL. 

Arrive around 6.00pm. 

Play starts promptly at 6.15pm.

The ethos of the umbrella is to bring through our new members, introducing them to ‘real’ match format whilst still being able to guide them in the rules & etiquette of the game.

The revised format will now be that a group of experienced players/skips will be selected out of one bag & allocated to a rink for the umbrella. The remainder of players ‘new’ & ‘experienced’ will be pulled from a second bag.

This will enable the skips to advise & direct newcomers & others in the correct manner of match day play, whilst remaining a fun & relaxed evening.

Once your game is over we encourage you to retire to the club house for a well deserved drink and a chat. The buying of drinks for your opposite number can be an embarrassment for those on a limited budget. Also some of our players do not drink alcohol, and can only afford soft drinks. Therefore, do not feel obliged to offer to buy drinks for your opponent.
