20 April - With the improvement in the weather, the Top Green is now open for roll-ups. For the time being, there will be no roll-ups on the bottom green.
The rinks that were closed on Top and Bottom greens are now open.
Until further notice, pushers are not to be used.
Members are also reminded that mats should be moved on each end, and the distance moved should be at least 2 yards.
These restrictions are to ensure that the condition of the greens holds up through the whole season. As soon as conditions permit, the restrictions will be lifted.
BOTTOM GREEN
No Roll Ups are to be played on the Bottom Green until further notice - sorry
TOP GREEN - all the rinks are now open for roll ups except when booked for competitions.
The whiteboard on the outside of the Pavillion will also show which greens/rinks are closed.
Before coming to the club for a roll up (even one that you have already booked using BOWLR) please check this daily Greens Status in case any rinks or entire greens have been closed first thing in the morning due to weather conditions, greens maintenance, over wear, damage from natural intruders, etc. If your original rink booking is no longer available please choose another rink that is open.
Our Greens Team work exceptionally hard with our contractors (Avon Sportsground Maintenance) to keep the greens open and in tip top condition, but they also have to take into consideration resting overtired rinks in order to allow the grass to recover. Otherwise long term damage may occur which will have a devastating effect on our ability to play at our best.

Anyone found playing on a closed rink/green will be reported to the AEC.
