A bit of fun!

A silly little bit of fun, often done on Opening and Closing days and various other club get togethers, before playing normal bowls formats.

  • Every player attending takes one of their bowls and walks around the outside of the Green, spreading themselves around all four sides.

  • A coin or marker is placed in the centre of the Green while all the players stand with one foot in the ditch and the other foot on the green.

  • A bell or whistle is sounded and everyone bowls their bowl at the same time, trying to get their bowl closest to the central marker.

  • As you can imagine it can get rather chaotic with bowls knocking each other around, but the organiser adjudicates on which bowl is closest and is the winner. If the marker/coin is moved, it is placed back on its original spot then judging begins.

  • The fun part is finding your bowl afterwards!
